(SACKVILLE, NB) Mount Allison hosted Moncton in AUS men's soccer action under lights at Alumni Field during Mounties Homecoming weekend. The home crowd was treated to a back-and-forth affair that saw both teams earn a point in a 2-2 draw.
Mount Allison would open the scoring off a Jack Bennett (Falmouth, NS) free-kick that sailed directly into the net after a scramble in front of Moncton's keeper.
The first half would end with both sides attempting five shots each.
Moncton quickly got even in the 51st minute as a through ball from the foot of Mohamed Babour hit a Mounties defender and found the back of the net.
The Aigles Bleus would follow that up with their second goal of the game as a scramble at the top of the box fell to Yoan Robichaud who guided a shot in the left corner of the net.
Mount Allison would respond immediately when fourth-year defender Robin Weiland (Riverview, NB) directed a rebound into the top left corner much to the thrill of the hometown crowd.
Moncton (2-2-3) will travel to Fredericton to play UNB on September 23 at 3:15 p.m.
Mount Allison (0-3-2) for their part will next play host to Memorial on September 24 at 2:15 p.m.
