Men’s Bronze medal game: UBC defeats Western to finish third

Manroop Clair scored 39 points, adding 10 rebounds and five assists as the UBC Thunderbirds upended the Western Mustangs 99-82 in the men's bronze medal game at the 2020 U SPORTS Final 8 Basketball Championships on Sunday at The Arena at TD Place.

 

Jadon Cohee added 20 points and six assists for the Thunderbirds, while Omar Shiddo had 29 points in a losing cause for the Mustangs.

UBC shot 45.8 per cent from the field and 37.5 per cent from three, compared to Western's 37.7 per cent shooting and 25 percent from beyond the arc.

With the win, UBC end their season with an overall record of 21-5 in regular season, conference playoff and U SPORTS Championship action. Western ends their campaign with a 19-9 record in all competitions.
