Calvin Epistola's three-pointer with two seconds remaining proved to be the winner as the the uOttawa Gee-Gees defeated the Bishop's Gaiters 77-75 in their men's consolation semifinal game at the 2020 U SPORTS Final 8 Basketball Championships on Saturday at the Ravens Nest.
Guillaume Pépin added 15 points and four rebounds for the Gee-Gees, while Nervens Demosthene had 27 points and four assists in a losing cause for the Gaiters.
The Gee-Gees shot 44.9 per cent from the field and 26.3 per cent from three, compared to the Gaiter's 42 per cent shooting and 34.6 percent from beyond the arc.
With the win, uOttawa advances to play Alberta on Sunday, at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT in the men's consolation final, while Bishop's ends their season with an overall record of 10-10 in regular season, conference playoff and U SPORTS Championship action.
